Todd Spangler
Owner & Instructor

I began my welding career in 1998 after graduating from welding school. I spent many years on the road working in nuclear power plants, refineries, biodiesel plants, and chemical facilities. During that time, I also gained experience in robotic welding and manufacturing, which gave me a strong technical foundation across several industries.

After my years traveling as a welder, I moved into leadership roles. I spent ten years in recruiting and then three years serving as Vice President of a welding school inside operations. In July of 2020 I purchased property and turned a dream into reality. Iron Eagle Welding Academy officially opened in September of that year.

I am an outdoor enthusiast who most enjoys hunting bull elk and Missouri’s eastern wild turkey. When I am not at the academy, I am tending cattle or spending time with my wife and kids. I proudly call myself the self proclaimed Dad of the Year.

The philosophy at Iron Eagle is simple. I enjoy watching people succeed. Helping someone build a career they can be proud of is the most rewarding part of this, and ultimately it is what turns the key every day at Iron Eagle Welding Academy.

Collin Burns
Instructor

I’m a dedicated industrial combo welder with 11 years of hands‑on experience specializing in the maintenance and construction of refinery, ethanol, and biodiesel facilities. My background includes complex piping and structural welding in high‑stakes environments where precision, safety, and reliability are essential.

In addition to field work, I spent five years as a welding instructor, training the next generation of tradespeople in advanced techniques and industry standards. This dual experience allows me to bridge the gap between demanding job‑site requirements and effective technical mentorship.

I’m committed to delivering high‑quality craftsmanship and maintaining a strong culture of safety and excellence on every project. My goal is to leverage my industrial expertise and instructional experience to contribute to high‑performance teams and critical infrastructure development.

Kyle Siems
Instructor

Dedicated professional with 20 years of experience in the welding industry, balanced between a decade of instructing future tradespeople and ten years of hands‑on field work as a mechanical contractor.

As a contractor, I’ve specialized in high‑precision welding within food‑grade, pharmaceutical, and industrial environments. This combination of technical execution and instructional leadership allows me to bring advanced theoretical knowledge and practical problem‑solving to every project.

I am committed to upholding the highest standards of safety and quality, ensuring every weld meets the strict regulatory requirements of the industries I serve.

Seth Haslock
Instructor

Dedicated welder with ten years of field experience across chemical, ethanol, food‑grade stainless, and pharmaceutical environments. As a certified CWI, I’ve built a strong foundation in high‑precision welding, regulatory compliance, and technical problem‑solving in demanding industrial settings.

I now apply that expertise to mentoring and developing the next generation of welding professionals. By combining real‑world experience with advanced technical knowledge, I focus on preparing students to meet industry standards with confidence, accuracy, and a commitment to safety.

Kelli Nolting
Office Manager

I spent 26 years as an Agricultural Education Instructor / FFA Advisor, with seven years at Nevada Regional Technical Center and nineteen at Carl Junction High School. After retiring from the classroom, I continued supporting local schools and organizations through substitute teaching and administrative work with Farm Bureau offices and Iron Eagle Welding Academy. That experience eventually led me into a full‑time role with Iron Eagle Welding Academy.

My welding background began in my family’s business, which my brother now operates. I also taught introductory welding and project fabrication at the high school level. I am originally from Arkansas and bring additional experience from 2½ years in accounting with Tyson Foods and two years in customer service with JB Hunt, booking freight from Southern California to the East Coast. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Arkansas and a Master’s in Education from the University of Missouri. I love helping people discover what they enjoy and supporting them as they pursue their passions.
